HAITI
“The Lord will guide you continually, Nine teenage boys and I discussed these verses today, sharing our answers to questions like, “what does this passage mean to you?” and “what does it mean for Haiti?” I sat listening as each boy shared with the group… I was blown away. These boys, who have been through hell; and I don’t just mean the earthquake. They have grown up in one of the poorest of nations, endured the mistreatment of those who claimed they would help, and been rescued from the dangerous streets of Port au Prince. Yes, these boys, shared that they believe no matter what happens they are never alone, that with God Haiti can be rebuilt and revived :) Many voiced a desire to be a part of a better Haiti and a confidence that God is able to help guide them and make them leaders. Amazing. I was so impressed with their willingness to participate, their comprehension of the verses, and their hearts toward God. I am inspired. I am thankful. God thank you for taking care of these children when no one else would, and thank you for putting amazing people in their lives to work with you to repair the damage. You are amazing. I am so glad to be here witnessing your work. Help me keep my eyes on you, God of my past, present and future. P.S. I had only one mosquito bite until last night (they usually quite like me)… I guess they thought I was getting a little overly confident… now I have a bunch :( hopefully I can ward off any more.

giving you water when you are dry
and restoring your strength.
You will be like a well-watered garden,
like an ever-flowing spring.
Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities.
Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls
and a restorer of homes.” Isaiah 58:11-12
