“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’”

i wish i could bring everyone i know down here… it’s a hard experience to put into words. they just don’t do it justice. and writing is difficult to find time for when there are so many people here that i enjoy spending time with! i keep getting caught of in conversation instead of writing or reading… and i really don’t mind it. of course, i need my moments of solitude and times with God, but i sure love living in community! i long for it when i’m at home. the support, the connections, the problem solving, the fun. people :)

today was splendid! hotter than the weekend, but manageable. we spend the early part of the day in the dungeon that is the clinic here. a group of us cleaned and organized for hours, but we got so much done! (and even saw a few patients in midst of all that). in the afternoon, was the feeding program that provides food and love for kids from the neighborhood. first we play with them for a bit, playing games, coloring, carrying them around… then they have a time of songs and teaching led by the Haitian principle of the school here (one awesome guy!)… then they eat! every monday, wednesday, friday these beautiful faces get a chance to come feel loved, have fun, eat a good meal, and hear about a God who loves them so dearly. it’s one of my favorite things to be a part of :) once that was done, Ivans (the school’s principle) took a few of us to the ravine to hand out tickets for our extended clinic hours tomorrow. There’s no real way to describe what we see when we go into these most poor of areas… yeah. so all that to say, it was a busy day!

highlights so far: church yesterday. i love going to church here :) …the sweet time and conversations had with the orphanage kids that i know and miss when i’m gone. …watching the sunset from the roof on the guesthouse tonight. …spending time with the staff and other team members. they are quite lovely. …oh! and seeing estaline walk! correction, run :)

here’s that sweet thing…

PRAYER NEED: tomorrow will be a loooong day. we have two doctors here right now, and two nurses other than paula and i, so we are doing clinic basically all day. we’ll see a huge number of patients, and still have organizing work to do. we get to work with great people, the doctors are awesome, and i know thing will go well… but just please keep us in your prayers throughout the day. we will need energy and wisdom. pray that we are efficient. pray that people see Jesus in us. pray for the patients… many will have issues that we cannot address and medical care in this country leaves MUCH to be desired. we will have to send some away hoping they will seek further care, and hoping they will get it if they do. beyond their physical needs, pray for hearts. thanks :)
